After getting the Variant into the barn, we “ruined” it by cutting a big hole in its side! I very carefully measured the height of the door opening just in front of the B-post before cutting and checked it equally carefully afterwards. VW knew how to make cars strong – there was no movement whatsoever! |
| Then I started to trim the opening to suit the door frame, which was also gradually whittled away at the edges. This was a nerve-wracking job as, if I cut too much, it would have been difficult to put it back! |
