These are the differences! Quite strange and no apparent functional reason. The main features, like positions of hinge mounts, are the same. The differences seem to be only cosmetic.

Incidentally, the door switch plungers you may see just above the lower joggle are non-standard. They are linked to the interior light and I fitted them in 1982! Why didn’t VW fit them as standard?
